¡Vamos a la playa!

Puerto Rico was a beautiful trip. Everything was awesome: food, hotel, beaches, the locals, etc. We had a great time and it was a much needed trip. Every Thanksgiving, since me and Matt have known each other, we have gone on a thanksgiving trip. In 2011 we went to San Francisco, and in 2012 we went to Puerto Rico. We just got around to editing the pictures, so I thought we would share them with you all. Any thoughts on where we should go this year? We are definitely thinking some place tropical. Perhaps Brazil or the US Virgin Islands? Let us know if you have any suggestions!

//Here are some of our recommendations for the trip:

1) You MUST eat Jose Enrique’s. The food was orgasmic, the drinks were fresh and delicious, and the environment was cozy. It’s a restaurant but built in the middle of a neighborhood in a house. This is a popular spot for the locals, so you will have no trouble finding it.

2) You MUST visit Isla de Culebras. Its also called “flamingo beach.” That’s were all the pretty beach pictures are taken above. We went on a boat tour since we wanted to snorkel as well.

3) We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in San Juan and loved it. Neither of us had ever stayed at the Ritz before, so this was a big treat for us. We scored an awesome deal from cheapcarribean.com. I highly recommend the site, they always have specials going on.

4) You MUST visit one of the 3 bioluminescent bays in Puerto Rico. They have the largest bio bay in Puerto Rico and its spectacular. They recommend that you not go 3 days prior or post a full moon because you want the sky to be as dark as possible. When we went it was a full moon, but it still was a great experience. The canoe trips for that book quickly, so make sure you reserve that ahead of time.

5) You MUST visit Old San Juan. Its has that colonial vintage feel, and they have tons of little shops, boutiques, etc. We visited an awesome tapas place called El Torreo Salao and loved it. I love sangria and tapas, so I was in heaven. All the restaurants have patios so it was nice to sit outside, have some drinks and food and listen to the locals play music in harmony with the breeze = pure bliss!

Hope this helps, and have a wonderful Saturday!

Tchin Tchin,
Matt & Anisha
